In WandaVision, Wanda's journey leads her into a dark path, where she faces the threat of a powerful Infinite Stone-powered Hulk and a terrifying horror menace. Her transition into a tragic but fearsomely powerful villain is marked by her growing strength and cunning. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she becomes a possessed determinator, an occasional stalking horror, and a lich queen, each embodying distinct facets of her character evolution.
After coming to terms with her past, Wanda returns to Marvel Zombies, where she finally secures her victory. This unadulterated triumph is rare for a villain in the MCU, making her the best antagonist so far. However, she has yet to face a conclusive defeat.
While other MCU villains have achieved significant victories, two standout examples are Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl) and Thanos. Zemo successfully splits the Avengers, while Thanos closes Avengers: Infinity War with a snap that eliminates half of the universe's life. These victories are temporary, though they highlight the strength of the group despite their division. Meanwhile, Wanda's true victory comes in Marvel Zombies, where she uses her powers to trap Kamala Khan in a fake reality, leaving behind only a chilling scene of her zombified form sneering at the camera.
After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, viewers wonder whether Marvel pulled its biggest punch with Wanda or if there are bigger plans for her. In the Marvel Zombies universe, both possibilities seem plausible, and Wanda continues to build her legacy as the most untouchable MCU antagonist.
