Diner

Homey chain restaurant serving American comfort food, with an on-site general store.

Quick comfort food for our family of 5. Wife had the southern fried chicken it was seasoned very well. Kids ordered from the kids menu but ate all our sides. I had the steak and the hamburger steak so I had 5 sides between the two entrees. Here’s a pro-tip. My son put the fried apples in between a split biscuit and he loved it! We had to wait 15 minutes but there is some much to look at in the country store the time flew by. Great road trip stop.

My partner and I enjoy stopping at Cracker Barrel's when traveling or at home. The closest establishment is about 45 minutes located in Mount Arlington which we haven’t visited in a couple of years and finally came tonight for dinner with no wait for a table. It’s a favorite restaurant for patrons who love homestyle comfort food with a country experience visually taking in the antiques hanging on the walls. It’s also a fun place to shop for toys, clothing, snacks, and more. We sat by their huge fireplace which was burning and made the dining room much more inviting and warm. Our server was Tania and newly hired. The menu offers a lot of food choices from all day breakfast to dinner. Complimentary corn muffins and biscuits started our meal. We ordered tonight’s special - Friday Fish Fry with four cod fillets hand-dipped in batter and fried with 2 helping sides of macaroni & cheese and Chicken Fried Chicken topped with Sawmill Gravy with 3 sides (vegetable soup, baby carrots and corn). The food came out warm, tasty, well seasoned and the portions were huge. The batter and the gravy they use on the chicken is the best. However the food at this particular location could be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. All in all, we had a wonderful meal and left with full stomach which we can recommend.

Ambience was eclectic. Staff were very attentive and sweet. Coming to food, it doesn’t have lot of varieties, but only authentic country style ones and limited. Compared to other breakfast or brunch places it wasn’t that great. Prices were less too. Overall it was good experience.

Good ole cracker barrel. Perfect for a stop during a road trip. Not fast food. Sit down, delicious, down home meal. Comfort foods with all the fixings.

Their pancakes are a sweet nostalgia! Reminded me of pancakes that I used to make with my mom. Oh and the pure maple syrup that comes in these little cute bottles make the dining experience so quaint. Friendly staff, high ceilings which makes the room less noisy when crowded, and reasonably priced menu. Will definitely go back. And as an extra experience, they have a fancy gift shop and store if you want to buy items for yourself or a friend, or simply be reminded of summers, holidays and sweet vacations by the beach. This place makes you feel good. 😊💕

I love the Cracker Barrel store - it is really great and unique stuff you can find.Restaurant and food are OK, but I feel something is missing every time I visit.By the way, the peach cobbler was delicious, just maybe too sweet.

Won't be back. Food was cold, upcharge for loaded hash browns was a small scoop, coffee was never topped off or asked if more was wanted. Never were checked on until after we had all finished our cold food.

We came at 8pm with a party of 9 and were greeted & seated promptly. Service was excellent and food was delicious and they weren’t out of the meatloaf which many times they are, so we were happy! One thing was that we were only given biscuits and not cornbread. Our server was attentive and took very good care of us!

Our dining experience was okay .The food was good as always and was served to us in good timely fashion . It was busy inside the place as it should be for a Sunday morning. My issue was with the Waitress ( her name was Denise ) , she didn’t bring out our drinks until 10 minutes after we ordered and never got any “Your Welcome” after we thanked her numerous times. She couldn’t even put our plates on the table , she handed our food to us . No smile either. The Hostess was spectacular and so inviting and warm to my Family and I and said goodbye when leaving unlike the Waitress who was looking over at us ( or we thought so) she was actually looking at our table at the tip probably because we noticed her doing that to past customersTeach the Waitress how to treat her customers like the HostessWe still left her a decent tip ( 10 dollars ) after spending 60 something dollars .

My go-to place in NJ when I want to eat southern food. My favorite side choice is fried okra and I like their cornbread. Usually get country fried steak, meatloaf, chicken n’ dumplins, fried chicken, or sugar cured ham as the main dish. The restaurant decor is fun and the staff takes care of you. Also, it's fun to browse the country store.

This Cracker Barrel is always our family road trip lunch spot. We love coming here for the atmosphere and food. This last trip, food was fine, hostess and store attendants were friendly, the waitress took a while to approach our table and service was so-so. It was the same the time before. This time though, the floor was also sticky and dirty with food pieces and silverware. Not sure if we'll come back again.

Can always count on hot & fresh food. The specials aren’t bad either. Little small but still good. Today we had melanie she was an awesome server. Thanks again .

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store never disappoints! Their fried chicken and grilled chicken are mouthwateringly delicious - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Plus, their unique accessories and authentic clothes add a charming touch to the dining experience. It's a one-of-a-kind spot where you can enjoy great food and discover hidden treasures you won't find anywhere else. Highly recommended!

I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel since I was a kid. My husband had never been to one. We headed out for lunch. We had an amazing waiter, a super helpful hostess and the food was delicious. I had fried chicken and chicken dumplings and my husband had the fried fish and shrimp with green beans. We both loved the green beans, they were cooked like our grandma's made them - smoky and flavorful. I had the new spring cherry lemonade- delicious. Everything came out super quick and was cooked perfectly. We bought some nostalgic candy and got some new sodas in the gift shop. The gift shop manager was so friendly and signed me up for rewards so that we would get a free appetizer when we come back. Awesome experience and wish I hadn't waited so long to go back!!

It was 6 of us. Service was great. Food came in reasonable time. Tasted very good. They allowed me to order from lunch menu 6 minutes before it was available. Karly the Waitress was friendly and patient.

Stopped at my favorite, but the food was just ok. I'm not sure why, but it wasn't bad. Also purchased some clothing items. The guy cashier was not trained to properly fold and bag items. Almost returned it, but the wife wanted it. Hopefully, small things will be addressed.

I’m a southerner who was lured up North for work and I miss my creature comforts. I cannot say enough good things about this location! We’ve been several times and the waitstaff is always incredibly kind and the service is fast. While I know it’s not a typical staple restaurant up here, I am grateful the locals are very accepting to the themes of it, and when I miss home it’s worth the drive to get to visit once in awhile instead of the 9 hours back home.

Ok Basic food and less than comfortable atmosphere. The place was freezing cold inside, and when the food finally came out it wasn’t much warmer. Cold hard mash potatoes cold hard broccoli and cheddar. Uncomfortable sitting chairs and dirty tables and utensils. The chicken fried chicken was amazing though. This was not worth all the hype.
