these honey flavoured homemade lollipops are not just a sweet confectionery but can also be good remedy for sore throat to kids and adults. the sugar lollies can be easily given to kids above 2 years who would not only enjoy it as a candy but can easily provide immediate relief to sore throat or cold and flu. in addition you can also treat these homemade honey lollipops as cough syrup by just skipping the stick part. you can easily store it in a cool dry place and it should last long for a minimum of 1-3 months. further you can also shape these as small buttons and then use it as a sweetener to your green tea or herb tea. i personally have not tried it but i assume it should taste good with it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 1/3 rd cup honey
Instructions
firstly, in a large vessel dissolve 1 cup sugar and ¼ cup water.
add in 1/3rd cup honey and stir well.
further boil on medium flame for 15 minutes.
stir occasionally, to prevent from burning.
boil till the syrup thickens and turns golden brown.
check for sugar syrup consistency by dropping the syrup into water. make sure the syrup hardens and form crystal. alternatively, check for temperature - 300 degree fahrenheit or 150 degree celsius.
turn off the flame and allow to cool slightly. this helps to thicken.
spoon the candy over butter paper or into the mold cavities.
place a toothpick in center making sure to cover the back of the stick.
allow to cool completely and remove once hardened.
finally, wrap honey lollipops with butter paper, and store in airtight container at room temperature, for up to a month.
