How Is This Keto Oreo Chaffle Recipe Keto?

I'm glad you asked. This recipe was created by combining and modifying two of my existing Keto recipes: 5-Ingredient Brownies and my Keto Maple Pecan Buttercream Icing. After some playing around, I came up with this Keto Oreo Chaffle recipe.

This is made with all Keto-friendly ingredients and uses a sugar-substitute. This makes these delicious, sweet chaffles perfect for anyone who is trying to eat low-carb, and perfect for anyone isn't as well!

What Is A Chaffle?

A chaffle is just a fun way of saying, "keto waffle." It's a play on the words, cheese and, waffle making chaffle. At its base, the recipe for a Keto waffle, or chaffle, is made from just cheese and eggs in a waffle maker (most use a Dash Mini Waffle Maker). This recipe for Keto Oreo Chaffles is a little more than that, but is worth the ingredients!

How Do You Make This Keto Oreo Chaffle Recipe?

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate for about 1 minute.

  • Remove and stir well. You really want to use the heat within the butter and chocolate to melt the rest of the clumps. If you microwave until it's all melted, you've overcooked the chocolate. Get a spoon and start stirring. Add 10 seconds if needed but stir well before you decide to do that.

  • In a bowl, add eggs, sweetener, and vanilla and blend until light and frothy.

  • While the waffles cook, mix the ingredients of the cream cheese frosting together in a separate bowl, using an electric mixer or food processor.

  • When the chaffles are finished, add a generous amount of the cream cheese frosting in between two of the chaffles, and serve!

  • Should make 2 full-size Oreo chaffles with a little batter left over, or 4 mini waffles made in the Dash Mini.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR HOW TO MAKE THE BEST KETO OREO CHAFFLES EVER

  1. Patience. That’s the best tip. They don’t take very long but if you want a crisp keto waffle, you are just going to have to be a little patient and let it take the 7-8 minutes that it takes to crisp up. Just when you think it’s done? Give it another minute or two. Don’t rush.
  2. Shallow chaffles. If you want crispy waffles, the shallower the waffle iron, the easier/faster it is to crisp up the chaffle.
  3. No overfilling. Overfilled chaffle makers…well, theyoverflow of course. Which makes a huge mess! So if in doubt, underfill rather than overfill. No more than 1/4 cup of TOTAL ingredients at a time.
  4. No peeking. I can tell you from LOTS of personal experience, that opening the waffle iron every 30 seconds “just to check” doesn’t help the chaffle cook any faster. Your best bet is to not even open it for 4-5 minutes.
  5. No steaming.if you’re using theDash mini, the little blue light goes out when it’s mostly cooked, but most importantly, the chaffle stops steaming quite so much. That’s a good sign that it’s done.
  6. Get hot.Wait until the waffle iron is hot before you add ingredients, and they’re a lot less likely to stick, and a lot easier to clean up.
  7. Mat it.Okay so about that overflow. I do find that it happens to me more often than I would like! One thing that has made cleanup easier for me has been to put asilicone trivet underneath.
  8. Crispy Cooling.Allow the chaffles to cool before eating. They get crisper as they cool, so try not to stuff the hot chaffle into your mouth right away. If you add the cream cheese frosting when they're piping hot, it will get really runny. It will still be delicious, but will be much messier to eat!
  9. Make lots. Make enough to share, everyone will want them, no matter whether they’re keto or not. Realistically, one full-size Keto Oreo Chaffle is MORE than enough for one person, so a single batch is perfect for two people to share.

  • Don't overfill the waffle maker! It will make a huge mess and waste batter. Use no more than 1/4 cup of batter in a Dash Mini.
  • Let the waffles cool some before eating and frosting. This will allow them to crisp up.
  • Use room temp cream cheese and butter to make your frosting.

These are incredible! I found that this recipe made 6 waffles in my dash mini waffle maker, which I happily stored for later. I shared one with a non-keto friend today and she loved it. I so appreciate all your hard work to create and share these recipes. I bought your keto book and use it all the time. So yummy!

So, this Oreo Chaffle recipe uses 2 sticks of butter, is that correct? One stock for the Chaffles and one stick for the filling. One stick of butter is 4 Oz.

This is such a bummer. The link to the Dash Mini waffle maker goes to a simple round Belgian-type waffle maker. It looks nothing like the pretty, shallow rosette style of every single chaffle pictured in this article. Is there a link to the waffle iron to make these like they are pictured?
