He adds, "Our attempts to adjust the rear wing compromised our aerodynamic efficiency, and we grappled with car setup to mitigate the graining and understeer."
McLaren has taken steps to address these issues, but will it be enough? The Las Vegas track lacks the long, fast corners that play to the MCL39's strengths, and the cooler weather reduces the advantage of their innovative cooling system.

Lando Norris, the current championship leader, remains cautiously optimistic. He reflects on last year's race, saying, "It was our weakest performance. Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari were significantly ahead of us." Yet, he remains positive, acknowledging the team's progress this year.
