Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the first series in the Percy Jackson world, also known as the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles.

Following one young demigod boy, the series tells the story of Percy Jackson as he goes on a journey to save the modern world from the Titans.

Mythology

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series focuses on Greek mythology, set in modern-day U.S.

Narration

This series is told in first-person from the point-of-view of Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon.

Main characters

• Percy Jackson: The main character, the son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson, he must fulfil several quests to save the modern world from the Titans.
• Annabeth Chase: The daughter of Athena and Frederick Chase, she goes on many adventures with Percy and is the main love interest in the series.
• Luke Castellan: The son of Hermes and May Castellan, he ran away from home at a young age before going to Camp Half-Blood. He joins Kronos, the Titan of Time, after becoming angry with the gods.
• Grover Underwood: The Lord of the Wild, he is one of Percy’s close friends and brought several of the main characters to Camp Half-Blood, a camp on Long Island where demigods train.

The Heroes of Olympus

The Heroes of Olympus is the second of three series in the Percy Jackson world.

The series is centred around ‘the prophecy of seven’, which predicted that seven demigods would help protect the world from a new enemy, Gaea. Percy and some of his companions from Camp Half-Blood link up with Roman demigods from Camp Jupiter. The seven of them must stop Gaea from destroying the world, while also encouraging peace between the Greeks and Romans.

Mythology

The Heroes of Olympus series blends Greek and Roman mythology.

Narration

This series is narrated in third-person, through the perspectives of several of the main characters.

• Jason Grace: The son of Jupiter and Beryl Grace, one of the seven heroes, even though he is from Camp Jupiter, he befriends the demigods of Camp Half-Blood.
• Piper McLean: The daughter of Aphrodite and Tristan McLean, she is part of Camp Half-Blood and close friends with Annabeth, Percy, and Leo.
• Leo Valdez: The son of Hephaestus and Esperanza Valdez, he is part of Camp Half-Blood and has the special power to create fire.

The Trials of Apollo

The Trials of Apollo is the third and final series from the Percy Jackson world. This series follows the Greek God, Apollo, as he faces harsh punishment from his father Zeus.

Transformed into a mortal named Lester, Apollo must attend Camp Half-Blood and learn to navigate life in New York City.

Mythology

Like the previous series, The Heroes of Olympus, The Trials of Apollo also features both Greek and Roman mythology.

Narration

In this final series, the narration goes back to first-person. However, in this series, the story is told from Apollo’s viewpoint.

Main characters

• Apollo: The son of Zeus and the Greek god of the sun, after angering his father Apollo is transformed into a mortal named Lester Papadopoulos and sent on a quest to restore his godhood.
• Meg McCaffery: The daughter of Demeter and Philip McCaffery, she claims Apollo (in his human form) as her servant and helps him secure the oracles so that he can become a god again.
